Communications Program Manager

Virginia Sea Grant is seeking a communications program manager toimplement and manage the strategic direction of theVASG Communication Center, developing operational plans, processes, and methods to establish the Communication Center as an intellectual leader in communicating science, technical information, and other specialized knowledge and information to non-experts. The position supervises staff, directs and instructs students, and develops and manages aVASG communications budget and other resources (e.g., facilities, equipment, partners). Responsibilities include leadership and creativity in developing, managing and executing theVASG communication, public relations, marketing, public awareness, branding, and messaging activities. Position directly supports student instruction, curriculum design, and evaluation of academic programming, particularly the communication internship program and elements of the professional development program for VASG graduate research fellows. There is significant direct interaction with students and faculty from multiple universities and colleges in the state, and support of graduate research projects on communications.
