Patrick Henry Community College (PHCC) is a comprehensive two-year college of the Virginia Community College System, serving the City of Martinsville and the counties of Henry and Patrick. PHCC serves approximately 3,500 credit and almost 2,700 non-credit students annually and, consistently ranks among the top ten “Most Tech-Savvy” community colleges in the country by the Center for Digital Education. It is one of the nation's 82 "Achieving the Dream" Leader Colleges. The college offers transfer programs, in addition to career-track and certification programs, and serves more than 200 employers through workforce development. Duties and Responsibilities:
Patrick Henry Community College is seeking a self-motivated professional and team player to serve as the Corporate and Donor Relations Coordinator. This position will provide communications support, event management, and alumni support for the college foundation. A role of this position is to build new and improve existing relationships between the college and employers within the service region (including private-sector companies, non-profit and governmental organizations) by helping them access campus resources such as faculty expertise, student career services center, Business and Industry Leadership Teams, professional development and customized training, and to connect to appropriate philanthropic opportunities. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, coordinate alumni and donor events; manage alumni database; produce a newsletter; plan and implement the foundation’s social media program and maintain the foundation’s website; and collaborate with public relations staff to develop multimedia content and market events when needed.
This position is funded through the foundation and is contingent upon renewal of funding.
Salary: Minimum $32,619 based on qualifications and experience, plus excellent benefits package.

Education, training, and/or work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Business or related area that demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

· Experience with event planning and coordination
· Ability to independently perform research and compile information in a form appropriate to the medium required
· Public relations and/or journalism experience
· A thorough understanding or ability to learn about different social media platforms is necessary
