The community is invited to a special showing ofPrivate Violence, an HBO documentary about domestic violence, onWednesday, Feb. 11, from 6-8:30 p.m., at 16 West Marketplace. Donations raised will go to the domestic violence offender program of Family Service of Roanoke Valley.
Leadership Roanoke Valley is hosting the fundraiser to help end the cycle of domestic violence by raising awareness about its prevalence and strengthening community resources. Experts believe that specialized counseling for the offender is an effective solution.
The evening’s program will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. There will be free appetizers, as well as drink and food specials available for purchase at Cork & Crust. The suggested donation at the door is $5.
