Have you ever wondered how social media is transforming journalism and communications? Steve Momorella from TEKGROUP International will speak at the next professional development luncheon on Aug. 11 at Hotel Roanoke. His presentation, “Follow. Share. Post. How Social Media is Transforming Journalism and Communications,” will cover various issues involved for communicators with regards to social media and how people are receiving and engaging with news.

TEKGROUP recently conducted a social media and news survey to study the ways in which news consumers choose media sources to follow and interact with. Momorella will discuss the findings of this survey and provide real-world examples of companies and their successes with social media communications.

As one of the founders of TEKGROUP, he has more than 16 years of direct digital communications experience. Ranging from programming to high level design, from R&D to sales and marketing, Momorella has worked closely with many organizations – big and small. Currently he is responsible for sales and marketing for TEKGROUP’s Online Newsroom Solution used by Ford, Toyota, Starbucks, Prudential, Walgreens, Sprint, and many others. A frequent speaker, he has given presentations for other the PRSA chapters, the Media Relations Summit, and Major League Baseball as well as offering frequent webinars on the topics of Online Newsrooms, Social Media, and Digital Communications.
